RIE and Montessori-based learning
Nutrition
We strongly feel that what we put into the children's stomachs during the day is just as important as what we put into their heads & their hearts. Where available, we always buy organic, non-GMO foods. We strive to limit or completely eliminate all High Fructose Corn Syrup, Hydrogenated oil, bleached flour, artificial flavors and artificial preservatives. This does greatly increase our food budget, but we offset this cost by participating in the California State Food Program.
A nutritious breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack are provided each day. Prior to 8 months parents may choose to provide breast milk or their brand of formula/infant food or use that which the provider supplies, which is Kirkland brand formula. Baby MacBean provides all solid foods once a child is over 8 months old. When children transition from breast milk or formula we use organic, hormone-free cow's milk. All meals are prepared in accordance with child care licensing requirements and the U.S.D.A Food program. Below is a sample of the menu served.
Allergies and Special Diets
We are very experienced in preparing food for children with allergies (nuts, shellfish, dairy) or special diets (Vegetarian, Vegan, Ovo-lacto, etc.). We do our best, within reason, to provide foods to meet your child's needs in this area. Please discuss your preferences with us in advance.
